Simon's Birth
Announcement
It is hard to know what to do when you arrive home
from the hospital,
months early and arms empty.
I wanted people to know about my son.
I needed to do something for him - to honor him.
So I decided to design these little birth announcement
cards.

I made a wire and bead butterfly to attach to each card.
Small black dots show the flight path of the butterfly.
I chalked the background light blue and pink.

The hospital made us casts of Simon's feet and one of his hands.
I used these to make "prints", scanned them into the computer
so I could us them in these announcements.
